Quantum chemistry is hard, so it is very useful to have this book! I only rented this book because I originally purchased a cheap, old version of Mcquarrie's Quantum Chem textbook, but then my professor ended up assigning homework problems from the new edition that he had actually instructed us to buy (drats!). For an intro quantum book, I think mcquarrie's is the best option out there and it's no wonder it's been around for 20+ years. The book was also written with latex so the writing is very neat. The book cover is also very conservative and professional looking, resembling that of a reference book that you might keep on your shelf one day.
